Shift is the first of three pre-release singles from Iain Howie's debut album Patterns (out June 11th). It is the opener and the only non-vocal cut on the album.
Shift washes over you like a tidal wave with huge pads and a steady four on the floor rhythm that is an ode to the slow emotive house sound that got Iain started.
The Shift video is the first piece of an international collaboration between Iain and Tokyo based artist Akiko Nakayama. Akiko is creating a series of her acclaimed "Alive Paintings" to be used across the Patterns campaign.
